My Official Position

January 25, 2008

I’ve gotten some feedback on the new site. Super thanks to TBV for outing me! I feel I need to comment on my official position with cycling and why I’m expanding my genre. Here goes . . . take it or leave it . . .

It seems that doping has consumed the sport and I don’t want to talk about it anymore. I don’t think anything new is going to come out on Floyd and to tell you the truth, I think the verdict has tainted the sport. I still appreciate the thrill of the race, though I don’t know if its all smoke and mirrors these days and I don’t like to be tricked. You can quote me on that.

Peace Out

What Happened to BK?

January 23, 2008

What a loaded question. Just for asking that, you’re getting a pretty loaded answer.

As most of you know I’m the mother of two spirited ladies.  Because of the many changes that has occurred in the cycling industry, BK has been pushed to the back burner. There’s a lot of politics from that transaction, though I left my position on fabulous terms.  What am I doing now? I’m developing my skills as a Super Mom and photographer.

Let me talk about my achievements as a Super Mom (read: why you should stay tuned).   First and foremost I have become the “Cool Mom” without sacrificing the respect of my children – think the opposite of the mom from Mean Girls played flawlessly by Amy Pohler.  I have also made new Mommy Friends now that my oldest is in kindergarten.  These are an amazing group of women on so many levels. I plan to discuss this in length in future posts.  I have figured out that I am the demographic for Good Housekeeping Magazine.  This last achievement has  been a rollercoaster of feelings, again, a topic for a later post.

Why should you keep reading? Easy. I have become a student of pop culture, trashy mags, insane gossip of the stars as well as keeping an eye on the cycling industry. (LANCE! GET OFF THE OLSON TWIN!)  I realize that I may lose a few of my hard core cycling readers, though please know, my heart is with you.

The number one question (why do those always have to be two parters?) is: What happened with you and Bob Roll and what is he doing now?  I will answer as honestly as I possibly can. Because of Floyd Landis’ recent verdict (HE WAS ROBBED!)  portions of the cycling industry have changed dramatically to my dismay and that of Mr. Roll.  I refuse to comment further on Mr. Roll’s views for obvious reasons, though please know, we still talk on a regular basis and use nice words.  We’re still friends, folks. No harm, no foul on that one. What is Mr. Roll doing now? I am not at liberty to comment on that though I am free to say that he will be featured on the impeccable cycling coverage on the amazing Versus network, which includes, but is not limited to the Tour of California.

Thanks for stopping in! I look forward to your feedback.

Peace Out
