This is my oldest. The lighting needs work, though we’re always looking for something to do around here. Enjoy. It’s worth the entire 5 minutes. . . . the breakdancing, the interpretive dance, the whining sister. You can’t lose on this one.

I’m Off!

January 30, 2008

Hey folks!

Thanks for all your splendid responses. It’s great to be back and even though I was outed a bit early, I’m glad to be here.  Here in the frozen tundra, the temps have hit  20 below with the windchill.  No school for the kiddies either!  What’s my reprieve?

I’ M LEAVING FOR NEW ORLEANS AT 1:00 TODAY!

My girlfriends and I have been planning this trip for about 8 years, so once the marriages, babies, babies with cancer, being broke has passed (maybe not the being broke part) we have finally managed to make this happen.

I’m sure photos will be posted, fun will be had.  I just didn’t want you to think I all up and deserted you!  I did not.  I’m just taking a well deserved vacation with my girlfriends.

Stay cool . . . but not as cool as the Wisconsin windchills!

Peace Out

Comebacks Galore!

January 28, 2008

I’m so clever.  The other day I was in the car and heard Janet Jackson’s new single “Feedback.”  I couldn’t help but giggle a little because I was thinking of the poor gal’s yo yo diets. . . she’s huge, she’s amazing, she’s huge, she’s amazing. Anyways, the chorus of “Feedback” goes:

Crank it up give it to me come on
Crank it up give it to me come on
I’m gonna feedback feedback oh
Feedback feedback oh
Crank it up give it to me come on
Crank it up give it to me come on
I’m gonna feedback feedback oh
Feedback feedback oh

I couldn’t help but get all Weird Al about it and switch the words around.  Man, I’m seriously clever.

Strap it on give it to me come on

Strap it on give it to me come on

I’m into feedbag feedbag oh

Feedbag feedbag oh

Strap it on give it to me come on

Strap it on give it to me come on

I’m into feedbag feedbag oh

Feedbag feedbag oh

Here’s the real big news . . .  I got invited to have coffee with the cool moms this morning.  It was kind of a big deal.  Love it.

The  New Kids on the Block are making a comeback! My friend Katy and I want to get ripped and go.  Let me know if you’re in too. We could really make a heck of an event out of this.  Can you imagine?  They were horrible

My Official Position

January 25, 2008

I’ve gotten some feedback on the new site. Super thanks to TBV for outing me! I feel I need to comment on my official position with cycling and why I’m expanding my genre. Here goes . . . take it or leave it . . .

It seems that doping has consumed the sport and I don’t want to talk about it anymore. I don’t think anything new is going to come out on Floyd and to tell you the truth, I think the verdict has tainted the sport. I still appreciate the thrill of the race, though I don’t know if its all smoke and mirrors these days and I don’t like to be tricked. You can quote me on that.

Peace Out

What Happened to BK?

January 23, 2008

What a loaded question. Just for asking that, you’re getting a pretty loaded answer.

As most of you know I’m the mother of two spirited ladies.  Because of the many changes that has occurred in the cycling industry, BK has been pushed to the back burner. There’s a lot of politics from that transaction, though I left my position on fabulous terms.  What am I doing now? I’m developing my skills as a Super Mom and photographer.

Let me talk about my achievements as a Super Mom (read: why you should stay tuned).   First and foremost I have become the “Cool Mom” without sacrificing the respect of my children – think the opposite of the mom from Mean Girls played flawlessly by Amy Pohler.  I have also made new Mommy Friends now that my oldest is in kindergarten.  These are an amazing group of women on so many levels. I plan to discuss this in length in future posts.  I have figured out that I am the demographic for Good Housekeeping Magazine.  This last achievement has  been a rollercoaster of feelings, again, a topic for a later post.

Why should you keep reading? Easy. I have become a student of pop culture, trashy mags, insane gossip of the stars as well as keeping an eye on the cycling industry. (LANCE! GET OFF THE OLSON TWIN!)  I realize that I may lose a few of my hard core cycling readers, though please know, my heart is with you.

The number one question (why do those always have to be two parters?) is: What happened with you and Bob Roll and what is he doing now?  I will answer as honestly as I possibly can. Because of Floyd Landis’ recent verdict (HE WAS ROBBED!)  portions of the cycling industry have changed dramatically to my dismay and that of Mr. Roll.  I refuse to comment further on Mr. Roll’s views for obvious reasons, though please know, we still talk on a regular basis and use nice words.  We’re still friends, folks. No harm, no foul on that one. What is Mr. Roll doing now? I am not at liberty to comment on that though I am free to say that he will be featured on the impeccable cycling coverage on the amazing Versus network, which includes, but is not limited to the Tour of California.

Thanks for stopping in! I look forward to your feedback.

Peace Out
